　　According to the survey on the causes of students staying up late daily in a certain college, using social media software apps, such as Microblog, WeChat and Tic Tok, accounts for half, namely 50 percent. The reason which is in the second place is attributed to playing video games.While other reasons, including watching TV shows, reading books, roommates’ influence and others, take up the minority proportion.

　　From the pie chart above, it can be clearly seen that the phenomenon of staying up late has become more serious among contemporary college students due to the popularity of the Internet and smart phones. However, staying up late for a long time can do harm to us both physically and mentally, which youngsters have not realized yet. Therefore, for the sake of our body health and academic study, it’s time for all sides to take some actions. First, students should be self-disciplined to get into the habit of going to bed early and getting up early. For example, when the sleeping time is up, we can keep our phones out of reach and force ourselves to fall asleep, or read a printed book for a while instead. Furthermore, college institutions should pay more attention to this phenomenon, such as popularizing the hazards of staying up late.

　　To sum up, the causes of college students staying up late cannot be ignored any more. It is urgent to call on each college student to form a normal routine life. Only in this way can we own both a better academic performance and a more healthy body.
